What is sublimation printing?

Sublimation is the transition of a substance directly from the solid to the gas state without passing through the liquid state. For sublimation printing, a design is printed onto special paper using special inks. The design is transferred to a suitable substrate using a heat press, controlled by appropriate pressure.

Is sublimation printing permanent?

Heat from the press opens up the pores of the substrate, then with the applied pressure ink is transferred resulting in a permanent image.
